Stratos Tavoulareas has 40 years of experience in the power sector worldwide. He combines broad sector experience in policy, regulation, sectoral reforms, planning and strategy with deep understanding of conventional as well as cutting edge power technologies (thermal, renewables and hydro) and project finance. Stratos has advised clients on power generation project development and decarbonization of the power sector in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Chad, Ethiopia, Greece, India, South Africa, Togo and USA.

Prior to Blue Monsoon Capital, Stratos held several executive positions with the IFC / World Bank where he led a global team of power sector specialists to assist clients in opening challenging markets in developing countries and develop privately financed power projects.

Prior to IFC, Stratos held managerial and executive positions with Energy Technologies Enterprises Corporate, Praxis Engineers, Inc., Electric Power Research Institute and Combustion Engineering, Inc.

Stratos is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, holds MS degree in Management; M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from NYU/Polytechnic; and Diploma in Mechanical-Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece.
